NX offers year-round, small-scale nature-based experiences in Arctic Norway, with a focus on Western Finnmark. Our trips start from our floating base – the converted fishing boat MS Tuvholmen – anchored in remote fjords or docked in small harbours along the coast.
From there, we take you on genuine Arctic adventures – whether it's whale watching, kingcrab safari and northern lights by sea, or ski touring, glacier hikes, and mountain exploration on land.
Our standard daily trips is 3-5 hours out from Alta, but also provide other trip length from 3 to 7 days, but shorter day trips and extended stays can also be arranged. Every season offers something different, and every journey is shaped by nature.

Base yourself aboard our floating lodge, MS Tuvholmen, and wake up each day surrounded by raw fjords and the magical light of the polar night. With the deep blue twilight overhead and snowy mountains all around, this is more than a whale safari – it's a full immersion in Arctic winter.
We visit small, remote coastal communities, fish for our meals directly from the boat, and drift silently through sheltered waters in search of whales. This is slow, meaningful travel – far from the crowds, close to nature, and filled with real moments.

Ski and sail

Set sail into a winter world few have ever explored. Our Ski and Sail adventure takes you deep into the untouched mountains of Loppa and Western Finnmark, where wild fjords meet towering peaks – and the only tracks you'll see are your own.
With MS Tuvholmen as your floating basecamp, we anchor in remote fjords and access ski terrain that's rarely, if ever, been skied before. This is Arctic ski touring at its most raw and rewarding – far from crowds, lifts, and resorts.
Each day is shaped together with you and your group, based on weather, snow, and your ambitions. Whether you're chasing summits, deep powder, or just peace and space – the Arctic delivers. Certified local guides can be arranged to ensure safety, quality, and expert knowledge.
Ski and sail Highlights:
Early season (March): Deep snowpack and the chance for big powder days in untouched terrain.
Spring season (April–May): Long daylight hours, stable conditions, and the magic of skiing in the evening sun until late at night.
